About AMC Cancer Research Center

What sets AMC apart is its proactive approach to fighting cancer. It's uniquely focused on translating laboratory findings into concrete actions that will directly benefit people.

AMC was founded in 1904 in Denver as an independent, non-profit research center. In 1989 it became the first institution in the country to devote its entire research effort to cancer prevention and control. Today AMC attracts nationally recognized researchers and conducts the nation's third largest research program for cancer prevention. With an ambitious vision for future growth, AMC is poised to become, over the next decade, the largest institution in the country committed solely to research on the prevention and control of cancer and chronic disease.

AMC commits a distinguished history, outstanding scientific resources, and a unique organizational vision to a single goal: putting the latest scientific discoveries to work for the health of the men, women and children in our communities.
